Happy Diwali!

It’s Diwali season, 2006 and I have some Diwali Wallpapers [ which can also be found on my aside blog. [ in addition to the one released in 2005 ].

Number 1:

Description
The desktop wallpaper has an illustration of Goddess Lakshmi [ or Laxmi ]. She represents wealth, well-being and prosperity and business owners welcome her on the festival of Diwali and pray to her so that she blesses them with wealth and prosperity. This Diwali Wallpaper has been created to give it an old, worn-out paper look to signify the tradition of celebrating Diwali that is being followed from the time of the Ramayana.

The colors used are the colors of turmeric and saffron, which are oft-used “puja” [ meaning "prayer" ]-related materials.

little Fish

Maybe a fisherman dropped some from his catch while boarding the early morning luggage compartment. Strangely, these dead fish were lying on this staircase on Platform no. 3 on Nerul railway station for two whole days before the cleaners swept them away.

Quite a morose scene to start your morning with.

HairWash

She’s picking lice from her child’s hair.
Shot at Nerul Railway Station , Navi Mumbai. It’s an awfully crowded hour of rail travel but people around her have moved away so as not to catch any “thrown-away” lice.
